Try the clean heads function. I dont know what model of printer you have but there must be a utility function for cleaning the print head/s as the ink sometimes dries up on the nozzle and ink cannot pass through. Good Luck.My printer cartridge is not printing out pictures that I tell it to print from the computer(For my English?
We need a Make and Model number of your printer to give any useful information.

Has the printer EVER printed pictures?

Does the printer print documents?

If you have an IBook G4, how you can set the HP C4180 Printer to print with black ink cartridge only? Thanks?

All of the HP Printers are COLOR

That being said you click to print the box opens and you must select Black and White from the box

Thats's the only way. After each print job. If there is a way, Which I doubt thats where it has to be done.

How do i clean an HP C4180 print cartridge please?

First, you need to download the driver to begin. Before you begin, you need to Select your operating system in the HP link

-%26gt; install and run the driver -%26gt; restart your computer -%26gt; click on HP solution center (On your desktop) -%26gt; click on ';settings'; botton on the side menu. -%26gt; status -%26gt; Look for ';View ink levels'; -%26gt; click on it and go to device services. It should be thereHow do i clean an HP C4180 print cartridge please?
The best way is to remove the cartridge. Use a Q-tip and alcohol and swab the bottom of the cartrdige, and then, do clean the print head on the printer itself.

Much cheaper than having the program do it. It wastes ink when the printer uses the program to control-clean the heads. The way I am suggesting works just as good and you don't use up any valuable ink.

  • What is wrong with my printer. it will print halfway then stop and the ink cartridge lights and arrow blink.?

it is an hp D4200 series sometimes it works fine but occasionally it will only print half a sheet and stop. i have tried to cancle the printing but it still says document is deleting. won't delete though been like that for 1 hour. now it won't print at all how can i fix it.What is wrong with my printer. it will print halfway then stop and the ink cartridge lights and arrow blink.?
If you can turn the printer off for a minute, this will clear the memory, also restart the computer to clear any print jobs and try again, if you are still having the problem delete the drivers and reinstall them, hope this helped and good luck. What is wrong with my printer. it will print halfway then stop and the ink cartridge lights and arrow blink.?
Maybe you need to clean and re-calibrate the ink cartridges. Click the start icon, go to your printer and click on HP print screen and just follow their directions. I have to do it every time I change cartridges. I have a HP 3600 series.
It sounds like you are close to being out of ink...make sure there is plenty of paper in the printer, if this doesn't correct the problem, check to see if you need an update for your printer.

What printer do you have... not all printers have this feature. The older ones typically are not able to tell how much ink is left.

I have an hp deskjet 5150 and i have a color cartridge but it wont print in color. HELP!!!?

I've tried everything it wont work!!! And it had work before I needed to switch ink cartridges. Please be detailed in answers!I have an hp deskjet 5150 and i have a color cartridge but it wont print in color. HELP!!!?
Make sure you've removed any tape, seals or anything like that on the new cartridge. If the new cartridge does not have a built-in printhead, then the printheads may need to be cleaned (use the built-in cleaning utility %26amp;/or try cleaning by hand with a soft, lint-free cloth and some alcohol.) If the cartridge has any contacts on the side, make sure the contacts on the cartridge %26amp; in the machine are clean. Also, make sure your printer settings in the computer are set to color %26amp; not black %26amp; white or grayscale.

    Best of luck.

    Hi,

Is the ready light lit on the printer, are there any other fault lights lit?

Is the cable securely plugged in at both ends?

Does the print appear to go to the printer, check for a printer icon on the task bar bottom right.

Go into control start, printers and faxes, is the printer listed there and shows as ready?

    Try powering the print on/off.

What is the best inkjet coloured printer that can print the most pages using one cartridge?

I 'm going to open my own internet cafe.

i would like to know if you guys can tell me

what model of inket printer can print the most pages with one cartridge

(please specify the model and number of pages that can be printed by one cartridge)

thank in advance for the helpWhat is the best inkjet coloured printer that can print the most pages using one cartridge?
Seriously cut your costs by investing in a laser printer.

You can buy an HP Color Laser Jet 2550L for about $200-$400.

It takes 4 cartridges each color (yellow magenta Cyan) costs about $100, the black coses about $80. The colour toners print about 4,000 pages and the black prints about 6,000.

Even a high yield ink jet cartridge Will only give you at most about 500 pages for $40. Ink jets are unreliable and prone to errors diminishing print quality when the cartridges are nearing empty, dry, the wrong paper is used, the gearing system breaks down, the printer freezes when a cartridge is low.

If you are doing a high number of pages (which with an e cafe you will be) invest in a nice laser. Charge about upwards of $0.10/page and the unit will pay for itself.

My printer says the color cartridge isn't in right and won't print?

I have a HP deskjet 932C. It has been working fine til now- the blinking orange light comes on above the cartridge icon on the printer when I try to print. Then a dialogue pops up saying the color cartridge isn't in correctly. I re-seated it, bought a new one and still have the same results.

Any suggestions please??My printer says the color cartridge isn't in right and won't print?
Sounds like you either have a bad remanufactured cartidge or the contacts are dirty. Use a Q-tip with water (NOT ALCOHOL) to clean the contacts or both the cartridge and the opposing side in the carriage that holds the cartridge. While you in there, clean the reader strip (clear ribbon running across just behind carriage) as this is the cause of a lot of poor quality and skipping marks on the page. The strip has little lines on it that tell the carriage where it is printing on the page. It gets dirty from ink overspray. My printer says the color cartridge isn't in right and won't print?
Gently clean the contacts of the printer (where the catrige is installed) using a cotton bud and alcohol solution (if you do not have alcohol solution use vodka)

  • About how many pages can I print with useing one ink cartridge brand new?

The ink is Lexmark 17 and printer is Lexmark all in one X1185.

Wanting to know about how many pages can be printed untill I need new ink?About how many pages can I print with useing one ink cartridge brand new?
    about 100 on 5% coverage..

However a more realistic estimate is around 60, that is of course if the cartridge does not dry up before you use all of the ink.

A lexmark no 17 will dry up after about 30 days of non use.

If you do find that you are printing more,m or the cartridge is running out far too quickly you may want to switch to the number 16 black, it is the higher volume version of the number 17. It gives you twice the ink for $5-$10 extra.About how many pages can I print with useing one ink cartridge brand new?
It really depends on the quality and images/text that you print. the cartridge box should specify the average number of pages that you can print on the ink that you purchase.

    Good Luck!
    150 ish pages
100 but depends on how much you type on it
2,300 on the mutlifunction not sure about the other but im guessing it is not close to 2300

yes... go to printing preferences and select grayscale printing.Epson Stylus Photo R300 printer, how do i print using just one cartridge?
all of the epson printers i have don't really allow printing while having empty cartridges or empty slots. even though you still have a lot of black ink left, you may have to refill or buy a new cartridge.
I said goodbye to cartridges, too expensive. Hello Continuous ink Supply System Saves about 90% on cartridge costs
No, the printer underlays all colours to form black. You cannot over ride the empty cartridge warning. You do need to replace the effected cartridges.

HP PSC 1315 ';Check Print Cartridge';?

When I have both Ink cartridges in, I get the check print cartridge error pop up. My printer was working fine 3 nights ago, 2 nights ago I started having this problem. I took out the black ink cartridge, and I was able to print out some ink refill page the program popped up cause of the missing cartridge.

I called HP, my warranty is over. They want 36$ charge to fix this crappy 60$ printer, ugh.. sureeeeeeeee. Anyways if it printed in color, shouldn't it be an isolated problem with my black ink cartridge? or is it VERY possible the problem lies with my printer? The HP guy kept saying it was the printer and offering me TWO CHOICES, both choices I might as well buy a new printer. He claimed tech support could of helped me fix this problem over the phone.

Can someone give me some answers, please?HP PSC 1315 ';Check Print Cartridge';?
According to the user guide, the problem you're experiencing could be due to the following:

Print cartridge access door might be open.

    鈥?Close the access door.

Print cartridges might be missing or not installed properly.

鈥?Re-insert the print cartridges and make sure they are properly seated.

There might be a problem with the print cartridge.

鈥?Close the access door. If the light continues to blink, one of the print cartridges is defective.

    Do the following:

    1) Remove the black (or photo) print cartridge.

    2) Close the access door.

If the ';check print cartridge'; light blinks, the tri-color print cartridge is defective and must be replaced.

If the light does not blink, the black (or photo cartridge) is defective.

In all probability, the contacts on the contact ribbon are not connecting properly. Take a common pencil eraser and rub lightly across the contacts on the ribbon to remove any contaminants or debris.

Check the contacts inside the cartridge carrier to ensure that they're not dirty, bent or broken.

You should also inspect the carrier itself. If the plastic frame is cracked or broken and the cartridge can wobble around, it will usually install without any trouble but when you close the access door the carriage immediately moves back into print-ready position. The cartridge will shift and break its' connection. This will cause these types of errors as well.

If it's cracked or broken, go and get a new printer.HP PSC 1315 ';Check Print Cartridge';?

'Print cartridge error' for HP PSC 1350 all-in-one printer?

Recently I have been having issues with my HP printer - whenever I try to print, a 'print cartridge error' is displayed.

After numerous emails with HP customer support involving numerous troubleshooting steps, I called HP customer support where I may have gotten a decent answer. It seems that since I use refilled ink cartridges, the printer shows a print cartridge error.

I was told that buying new cartridges will solve the problem, due to some issue with the gold contacts on refilled cartridges. Will this solve the problem? I don't want to buy new cartridges and then not use them.

Thanks.'Print cartridge error' for HP PSC 1350 all-in-one printer?
    Hi

To solve your HP problem. YES YES YES YES. Buy the original cartridge, put it in and the printer will work Period. HP printers are fussy and half the time, refills work but, their is 50% chance that it won't.

Also, you are lucky because when you use refill cartridges, HP void their warranty. Buy the original cartridge and drop them in. Remove the power cable for 10 seconds. PLug it in.

Open the Toolbox and tell it that you have installed new cartridges and re-align. That's it.'Print cartridge error' for HP PSC 1350 all-in-one printer?
I hate giving HP the satisfaction of buying their over-priced genuine replacements. It sounds like the rep you spoke with gave you the usual line that ll major printer manufacturers feed to customers. These claims are simply untrue. In your case it's probably just a bad cartridge. It does NOT mean that refilled cartridges won't work with your machine. They may have advised you to do this already, but if not, please try this:

remove all printer cartridges from the printer, turn the printer off, unplug the printer from the wall electrical outlet, let it sit for a minute, turn it back on and reinstall the cartridges.
    Well, you should try.

But from my experience please just open the printer's door from the back and there's something that use the colours to print just take it out and then place it again accurately..

This should work, it happens a lot to me

  • Does it save ink to print in red or blue rather than black if I don't have a black ink cartridge?

My printer doesn't have a black cartridge, only a color cartridge. For my printing reasons, it really doesn't matter what color it prints in. I know that it prints black by mixing all the colors. Will it conserve ink if I print in blue or red? Or does it use the same amount of ink either way? (Dell 725 - Ink series 6 color)Does it save ink to print in red or blue rather than black if I don't have a black ink cartridge?
It usesroughly the same amount of ink, just more of one colour and less of another.Does it save ink to print in red or blue rather than black if I don't have a black ink cartridge?
You could save some ink, but you have to select one color for all the text on your document.

As you print different documents, alternate the colors, so the inks wear evenly.

I have an hp psc 1315v.can o refill the original cartridge that came with it.it's a hp print cartridge 58

as i look at the cartridge it says ';intended for sigle use only';.does that mean that i can't refill it?I have an hp psc 1315v.can o refill the original cartridge that came with it.it's a hp print cartridge 58
Firstly HP hates it when people refill their cartridges. Printing companies really get most of their money from customers paying for ink over the lifetime of the printer

I currently own a HP 1210 which is fairly similar to the 1315. All HP printer ink (even new ones) say ';intended for single use only';. The only difference from the the HP ink cartridge that comes with the printer and a new HP ink cartridge is that the one that comes with your printer is only half full (if that).

So to answer your question. Yes you can refill it. Although if you were to call HP and ask one of their sales representatives (as I have done in the past) on the phone they will tell you not to. They will say that over time it will decrease the quality of your printing.

That may or may not be true. I would at least recommend you do not refill the same cartridge over and over and over. That can potentially lead printing problems.

My Brother printer wont print black & cartridge has been replaced?

it,cleaned several times, still not printing any black on the check listMy Brother printer wont print black %26amp; cartridge has been replaced?
    1. So when you print out the text page, the ';text'; part does not print out?

    2. If you have cleaned the cartridge and can't print the test page (even after removing and re-installing the drivers) or if you are printing from the printer itself (it's own test). It may be something with the printer.

    3. Does it have ';ink lines'; that run from the cartridge to the printer head (I had a Epson that did this), those lines might be clogged.

You may just need to take it in for repair if it is out of warranty. If it is still in warranty, contact Brother.

One possibility is that the cartridge is bad. Also sometimes printers do this. They require you to have color, even if you want to print in black and white. I'm not saying this is the case with this particular printer, but its known to happen. My Epson CX7400 inkjet printer will not print anything, saying I need to replace the cartridge--but I don't!?

    Justin
    Easy answer mate.

Remove the empty cartridge and put it back in.

Close the lid and let it whirr for a minute.

You can now use the printer.
I have an Epson and it will not print if a cartridge is empty.

I don鈥榯 know what the demands of other brands are, but

    likely to be the same.
right click on the printer driver click on preference click on paper quality then set it on black click apply.
nope. not possibly. Epsons will usually use a small amount of colour ink to darken and sharpen the black. Thus you need all cartridges.

This inconvenienace is also for the protection fo the pritner. Since the pritner has an integrated thermal print head a small amount of coolant is needed to prevent the heat from fusing or damaging the unit. Having ink in the printhead acts as a suffieciant coolant preventing the printer from sustaining damage.

ALl printers with integrated print heads perform the exact same way.

Impossible to answer, manufacturers specifications are quoted with 5% coverage on the paper per colour, so printing a photo takes a LOT more than that, but it depends on paper type, size of print (6';x4'; or A4 ? ) , the image (pictures of snow use a lot less ink than night sky)

I can not figure how to install new cartridge in printer, person who removed them is not here. I see the tray they set on but can not install themInstall print cartridge hp f4180?
I am not familiar with the HP-F4180 printer - I have two HP printers [Deskjet 940c %26amp; F-340 All-In-One]; installing the inkjet cartridges in both is pretty much the same.

It has always seemed backwards to me, but HP [on both of my printers] TRI-COLOR goes in the LEFT scoket, %26amp; BLACK goes in the RIGHT socket [This is - as you are facing the front ot the printer].

At an angle [45 to 60 degrees], insert the bottom of the cartridge first, %26amp; then push top in - cartridge should ';click'; or ';snap'; into place.

Be very careful of the Printhead(s) - even a scrape or rub can cause damage.

Be sure the copper-conductors [strips] are clean - even a fingerprint can cause ';Communication'; problems between the printer %26amp; the software.

If these are new cartridges, be sure to take the protective tape [Printhead] off before installing.

    Good Luck,

The 56 is a maybe, the 21 and 56 are very similar, and will fit. However electronically they are different. The only real test it to put one in and try it out. If you have one open already go for it. However if you are going to loose money by trying this (by way of non refundable cartridges) I wouldn't risk it.

I don't really mind replacing the cartridge, but I don't understand why it could ever fail if the cartridge remains intact.Hewlet Packard HP 56 print cartridge?
Some of these cartridges have a built in chip that senses when the expiration date has expired....rather than sell bad ink, they shut off.....

Or they sense you have been refilling it and it's time to buy from them....

Kinda kidding about that last line....but they do have a micro IC that does shut them down.....Hewlet Packard HP 56 print cartridge?
Hi my refiller tells me there is a chip in them that wears out and nolonger tells it to continue working. also I noticed the small metal nobs on them do wear down so contact is probably not so good.
I just bought a new HP6180 printer and it is a GIANT nightmare. Of course the HP Rep at my local Best Buy assured me that it would be a 'snap' to install on my network and I would be good to go in less than one hour....... tick tock tick tock (10 days later) and I am still unable to print from my laptop and half the time I can't even print frommy pc.

I emailed the CEO at HP and was given the 'International We have your money so deal with it runaround'.

Just once in my life I would like to buy a pc related product that would actually load and operate correctly in the same lunar cycle.....just once.
The ink dries and builds up in the passages , and also the passages wear out. 4 or 5 refiles isn't so bad

My print cartridge is stuck!? help?

    Hello.

    I have a HP PSC 1400 All-in-One printer.

I stuck the color cartridge on the black one

%26amp; now it doesnt come out, any help on how I

can get it to come out?

I need to print stuff for a project in school %26amp; your

    answers are well-appreciated. =D

thank you.My print cartridge is stuck!? help?
No there is no trick to this, unfortunately.

If you can get the cartridge properly aligned, or square, in the printer you

should be able to firmly remove it. There isn't much you can damage provided you don't apply too much pressure. One of the cartridge guides may come out with the cartridge, if so it should slide and lock back in alright since they are not held in with a screw but a small plastic tab.

Why won't my lexmark printer let me print using a compatible cartridge of another make?

I bought a new ink cartridge and successfully printed for about a month. Then I tried to print and was told that the cartridge was not compatible. Please help me!

I have lots of ink left and am very annoyed. I suspect Lexmark have installed some kind of spyware on my pc but don't know how to locate it?

    Please help me!

From donna :)Why won't my lexmark printer let me print using a compatible cartridge of another make?
Lexmark cartridges have an electrical memory built in if the reprocessed cartridge was not properly done this can lead to problems.

The cartridge circuits can only take 3 refills before they stop working. This is to safeguard the print heads on them. All new cartridges have a print head on them whether that is black or colour. The most popular Lexmark cartridges are 16/17 26/27.

The software that came with your printer is the thing that detected this fault not anything Lexmark put there as Lexmark never install anything onto your computer. Why won't my lexmark printer let me print using a compatible cartridge of another make?
First off, Lexmark inkjets are the very worst you can buy - the *VERY* worst (apart from Dell's - which are simply rebodged Lexmarks).

Lexmarks, IIRC (I've never had the misfortune to use one myself, thank gods) have a sensor which detects when you're not using one of their own brand tanks.

Software cannot detect what you have in the printer; all it can do is tell you how much ink is left in the tank, and whether it's out of paper.

I know why you bought the printer - it was cheap. Thing is, you're now finding out the hard way *why* it was cheap.

Ironically, Lexmark lasers are the best in the business.
Why do you think Lexmark printers are quite cheap to buy, because, when you want to buy new cartridges, you pay more for those, then a new 3 in 1 printer would cost. Lexmark cartridges are extremely expensive. Therefore I stay away from Lexmark as far as possible.

A friend of mine, was given a Lexmark printer as a present. Great printer, A sexy female voice give all the instructions etc etc. She was very happy, untill she had to buy new cartridges.

They cost 鈧?125,00 ($ 150,00). She bought a nice Canon 1 in 3 for half the price.
problem with the chip on the ink, i would jus tsimply bring the cartridge back to your supplier and explain the detail, refilling the ink is a good idea but can effect print quality, for no hassle printing i would and prefer myself to go with the genuine products inks or toners.
it is usually due to the chip in the printer cartridge itself, unfortuately if your printer wont take it then it is very hard (near impossible) to make it do so. In future, buy ink and refill a lexmark cartridge yourself. (you can only doo this a few times though)
Firstly you can get your cartridge refilled at half theprice of a new one one sites like cartridgeworld.co.uk. If your cartridge is colour it maybe the black ink that had run out. download spybot search and destroy for free this will search for any virus.

If install lexmark photo cartridge, print some photos; then can i uninstall and save remainder for later use?

    Save what for later?

You can not save toner, ink for later. The printer will tell you that you have no cartridge installed.

Now if you are talking about saving a picture; then yes you can save a picture. Save it as a file on your PC. When you need to print the picture again at a later date, then you can print the picture when needed.

Finally, if you are talking about installing the printer. Then install the printer and do not uninstall the printer. Once you install a printer to a computer, the computer will recognize the printer in the future. So if you have a laptop; simply take it to work or school or vactation. When you get back to the printer, plug in and print what you need.

Now when you need replacement inks and toner. Contact Randall

  • How man 10x15cm full colour photos can I print per cartridge set on an Epson R300 Printer.?

I need to work out the cost per page when printing on ';Premium Glossy'; photo paper. 10x15cm/6'x4' Full Colour. How man 10x15cm full colour photos can I print per cartridge set on an Epson R300 Printer.?
this is not a simple questions to answer.

It depends on quality (higher quality will require more ink), and the picture itself...

    Examples:

1.some pictures for are taken with a white background, you can print more of these since not too much ink is used.

    2. pictures taken with a garden in the background, a lot of ink will be used since there might be too many different colors! How man 10x15cm full colour photos can I print per cartridge set on an Epson R300 Printer.?
Depends on the quality setting you print at. Higher the print quality = more ink is used.

HP PSC 2355 print cartridge error?

I had the error message ';The Tri-color print cartridge inserted now is not intended for use in this printer '; on myHP 2355. Just put a new black cartridge in my printer, yet, it will not print in black. What do I do?

I have the F300 HP All in one. I just put a new black cartridge in (and yes, I did put it in correctly and I took the plastic/tape off too). When I print, it'll only print out the stuff in color.. just, no black. What can I do?Just put a new black cartridge in my printer, yet, it will not print in black. What do I do?
First off, on most printers, unless you set it to print in black every time you open up the printer software, it prints in color. That is, what appears to be black is actually a combo of the color cartridge. You probably didnt even need to replace the black if you didnt know this. Its a lack of color in one of your color cartridges. Open the properties every time you print and set it to print how you want it to print. By default, most mfgs set the printer to print in hi color mode simply to run your cartridges out so you have to buy more ink. In properties, select only print black and try it.Just put a new black cartridge in my printer, yet, it will not print in black. What do I do?
1st try resetting the black cartridge.Make sure you took off the piece of tape and its seated correctly The printer manufacturers make it so you use a combination of color ink to make black, so you use up the color ink. If I need to print alot of B%26amp;W docs I take out the color cartridge. Most will print with just the black cartridge.
I had this problem, so I searched online, and found this solution. If the printer hasn't been used for a while, the printer head becomes clogged.

Most of the time, if you hit the File menu, Print option of the program you're working with, you'll get a ';Printer Dialog'; box, and next to your printer name, click ';properties';. You're looking for a button to clean print heads. This option might be under ';Advanced, Utilities, or Options';.

Once you find the print head cleaning option, click it and follow on screen instructions.

You may have to run this utility more than once. Hope this helps.
I had the same trouble. You need to remove cartridge - give it a shake. Insert again - go through the cleaning process. This should cure it. I was told it was due to storage conditions - quire cool.

    Hope this helps you.
Go on line and see if there is a troubleshooting section for the F300 HP. Go through all the troubleshooting. It could be a dud cartridge.

Have somebody else put the printer cartridge in, sounds stupid, but maybe it's just not snapped into place correctly. If that is the case, you can do it over and over, and if you happen to be missing a step, or not doing it quite right, you'll keep making the same mistake over and over again. Aside from that, maybe uninstall and reinstall the whole unit, software and all. Maybe the installation went funny.HP PSC 1315 All In One :- Black print cartridge installed incorrectly....Plz Help Me !! ?
    Hi there

Your print head could be faulty,or covered in ink, and unable to make contact with your cartridge.

You may have to take it in and have an expert look at it.

How many pages would a standard epson printer print out from one black cartridge a rough guide will do?

Whatever the number it's too much ink. Go to this website and save tons of money and almost never run out of ink.

http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/How many pages would a standard epson printer print out from one black cartridge a rough guide will do?
Using a 'standard' coverage rate of five percent on each A4 sheet - you should get around 1500 pages per refill.

That's roughly what I get with my HP printer. How many pages would a standard epson printer print out from one black cartridge a rough guide will do?
Good question, but depends on your printer settings, the fact of whether you are using genuine ink, or a compatible one. I always use genuine Epsom ink cartridges, that I buy online, but different cartridges do not always contain the same amount of ink.

Would think about 250 of normal letter pages.

Too many variables to give an exact answer, but hope it helps.
it depends upon the type of the printer.you can upload your model number on the website of the printer company and check the details

My printer doesn't print when 1 of the cartridge is empty?

ok, It's a Brother DCP 115 C.. When 1 of the cartridge is empty it doesn't print. So can i do any changes to settings so it can print with the available colors? My printer doesn't print when 1 of the cartridge is empty?
No you cannot, CYMK colour shading and mixing is very complicated, you do need all your colours present.

All newer model printers use a light black ink to allow for photo printing. The trade off is that this ink isn't dark enough to create a crisp text print. Your printer will be using all three colours to darken and sharpen your black.

To answer your question, there is no way to trick the printer into working with an empty cartridge, nor is there any way to override that empty cartridge warning short of replacing the empty cartridge. My printer doesn't print when 1 of the cartridge is empty?
Go to Control Panel: Printers: Right click on the picture of the printer you are using: choose: Properties: Printing Preferences: Paper/Quality: Select: Color:Choose which one you want to use: Black %26amp; White or Color: choose ok
yes, i think if you can do it.

  • Is there any way to print when you do not have any color cartridge but have black on espon Stylus C84?

Carnaby_Fudge gave you the accurate response.

I've had two color ink jet printers, and just as you did, I removed my color ink cartridge thinking I do not need it anyway. I almost threw it away but luckily I tried my printer first to see what would happen.

There must be a circuit ';in series'; that goes through the black ink cartridge and then through the color ink cartidge, so that if one or the other is missing in the start-up check phase when you turn on your copier, it notes the missing cartridge. It is just like a tree light string that is in series.

That's a shame. I really do not need my color ink printing! Is there any way to print when you do not have any color cartridge but have black on espon Stylus C84?
no, the c84 will not print with a black only cartridge. it drove me mad because i didn't print that often and the ink always dried up. i finally shelved it and invested in a cheap laser printer. it's been great!

I've changed the print cartridge and it still won't work.?

    Does the orange cellophane

come off as well as the pink tab and clear cellophane? It is a hp PSC 1401.I've changed the print cartridge and it still won't work.?
yes, you have to take the tape (pink tab and cellophane, off. It covers the holes that let the ink out.I've changed the print cartridge and it still won't work.?
You need to remove all the cellophane, so you can see connectors (small copper strips) and when fitting the cartridge will CLICK in to place with a gentle pressure
Yes it does. Try taking all the tape off. If the printer still dosen't work, you might've put the cartridges in wrong or you bought the wrong cartridges.
Normally there are plastic tabs covering print head areas of new cartridges and that would be all you need to remove from the cartridge, however, if your print head is shot all together you better go buy a new printer because it is cheaper to buy a new one than it is to get it fixed. I just went through it, and bought an Epson 4800 ... all I can tell you is ... It is AWESOME! I paid $129.00 Canadian

How many pages can a laser printer print before changing the cartridge?

It really depends on how much print is on each page you print, the type of printer you have and if it has a standard cartridge or has a extra capacity cartridge available and in use.

Most cartridges are rated for anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 copies or more at 10% toner coverage per page. The type of printer determines the size of toner cartridge available and therefore how much toner it can hold. So there are a lot of variables that determine how many pages a cartridge will print.

Hope that helps. How many pages can a laser printer print before changing the cartridge?

They are full, I assure you however your printer is remembering them as empty.

If you can get around this error message by hitting OK on the printer or Ignoring it all together.

However Lexmark is pretty savvy when it comes to marketing a single use cartridge, you may very well not be able to get a refilled cartridge to work with your machine.Lexmark X4550 Print Cartridge?
Why people try at refilling cartridge I don't know? because some cartridges are made not to be refilled, because that is were the makers get there money from, I would advice you to go on the internet and buy compatible cartridges for your printer, they are cheaper than refilling and you don't have any trouble with them, hear are two that you can try ';Ink2U.co.uk'; and also ';HVS Cartridge Services'; but there is a lot more that you can try, you have just got to go no the internet.

What is the least expensive way to purchase inkjet print cartridges for my printer?

I think you should try to either refill them yourself by buying the appropriate ink refill bottles and use a syringe to refill it.

If you do not hav time and want a ready made one, then some retail outlets also sell already refill packs for printers but you should note your cartridge number and see it it is compatible especially as some sell substitutable refill packs which normally cost half that of the original ones! What is the least expensive way to purchase inkjet print cartridges for my printer?
Looking at the total cost of ownership, the cheapest initial purchase is not always the best. I have used the gamut of inkjet replacement options: do-it-yourself ink syringes, refurbished cartridges and OEM cartridges. Your mileage may vary, but I have found that the OEM cartridges have always proven to be the most reliable.

But is a trade-off of reliability worth the savings? In my experience it is if you find a vendor of quality remanufactured cartridges. I am currently using Staples-brand cartridges because they offer a $3 coupon if you bring in an old cartridge and I haven't had a bad cartridge yet. In the past I have tried a couple of other brands - rhinotek comes to mind - and my experiences have been varied. Some have been DOA or seriously poor quality. Others have been fine.

One word regarding DIY refills: DON'T. They suck. The printheads (nozzles) built-in to most printer cartridges wear out or dry out making the refills a waste of time and a huge mess if things go wrong. What is the least expensive way to purchase inkjet print cartridges for my printer?
    http://stores.ebay.com/Digitgo

You must sign up for e bay, it's free. I buy my ink for my Epson Stylus CX 7800 from this seller and have no complaints. If you have a computer you should shop e bay for all your needs. Save much $$$
I suggest you to purchase the ink cartridges for the printer when ever you are in need because if you purchase the cartridges in excess and store for a longer period then the cartridges may not work while you try to print because the ink cartridges may be clogged and the printer may not work.
Buy it when they are on sale.

Does anybody know a store where they sell print cartridges for an old fashioned polaroid camera?

For Polaroid 600 film, Polaroid's ramping down their production of film gearing up to close their factories. At this time there does not seem to be any direct replacement for this film

There are white streaks going across the text, almost like there isnt enough ink, but I know there is because I just put in a cartridge! When its color, the colors are so off. How do I align the cartridges?!How do you align print cartridges for a Lexmark printer?
The streaks are due to clogged jets on the cartridge.

To align the color cartridge, simply try taking the cartridge out, and putting it back ini. Most often on Lexmark printers, this will bring up a message asking if your cartridges are new or old and of what number they are. after this menu you will likely be forwarded to a printing alignment page. Follow the instructions there. How do you align print cartridges for a Lexmark printer?
Alignment won't help get rid of the streaks. I agree, the nozzles are plugged and require a cleaning.

If your disk included a Z53 Solution Center or Control Program (you'll see this in your programs) you can access the cleaning function there.

You can also access it through Control Panel/Printers and Faxes/Z53. It'll be on the maintenance tab.

my son has had so many problems with this printer - his was insured so they gave him a new one but it will only work with hp ink says the replica ink he used was fraudulent - yet my hp 3650 uses replica ink without a problem.

I put in a new color & black cartridge and I can't print a letter it black letters?

Strange how I printed a black%26amp;white photo and I have no problem, however the color pictures that I printed are not as clear as when I printed them before, and I get a message that the dpi is less than 150. For some reason the computer is just not reading the black cartridge even though I put it in correctly. Maybe I got a dud?I put in a new color %26amp; black cartridge and I can't print a letter it black letters?
What kind of printer? is it a refill cartridge?

Did you do the alignment after installing the cartridges?

Since most cartridges today have electronic contacts on them, if you dirtied them before installing the cartridge, it is possible that this could affect the performance, you might want to take the cartridge out and clean the contacts with rubbing alcohol.

Also, the alignment of the print heads may need to be adjusted, my hp requires this to make sure the color and black line up properly, otherwise you get a blurry image.

Also, if the problem is with the color cartridge and you are trying to print a page of black letters and the printer is set to use colors, it may try to print the black using all of the colors instead of using the black cartridge. So you may need to clean the color cartridge as well. Try looking at the printing properties and making sure black is selected when printing something that is only text and see if it does it correctly then.

Good Luck!I put in a new color %26amp; black cartridge and I can't print a letter it black letters?
Sometimes it takes a few pages to get working. I've encountered this problem as well. Try a cartridge cleaning (you should be able to do that in your printer's software station). If that doesn't work, make sure you removed the cellophane tape from the printhead. Make sure the type is marked for black in your word processing program. Make sure it's the proper cartridge for your printer.

What's wrong with my printers ink cartridge? It tells me theirs ink and when i print no ink shows up.?

it seems that some dust has sticed to ur cartridge.....clean it manually using a soft cotton cloth and water and do clean it automatically using the software....!!!

both the cleaning must be performed and a test page must be printed before continuing printing....recommended...!!!

manish_3121hce@yahoo.comWhat's wrong with my printers ink cartridge? It tells me theirs ink and when i print no ink shows up.?
How recently is ';recently'; ... hours, days, weeks ??

All that is inside a ink cartridge is a sponge that holds the ink ... if you get a new one and put it in your printer and then don't print anything for days then the cartridge can dry up.

If you've bought in the last few days and it's not working right take it back to the store you got it from and get it replace because you have defective print heads on the cartridge ... happens all the time ... quality control tends to go out the window when you are paying some 10 year old who doesn't speak English in some third world country 1 dollar a day to put the things together ... do I sound ';bitter'; ... you better believe it.

One more thing ... if you've never ';played'; around with ink cartridges before then the advise to take it out and wash the print heads will probably end in more troubles than it is worth. I refill my cartridges all the time and it took many a mistake until I got it so I could do it without breaking the cartridge is some way ... and if you are going to mess with the cartridge be prepared to get ink all over your hands ... it never falls to happen ... lol ...

Best bet is to take it back to the store and get a new one.
The ink jet could be clogged. Follow instructions in your printers manual for cleaning.

Did it work for awhile after your replaced the ink, or did it quit printing right away? Is so, check the cartridge and make sure you removed the tape from the jets. I know this sound silly, but I've had folks do this.

Thats all I can think of from your question. Hope it helps.
Sounds like your printer head is clogged. There should be a utility program that was installed with your printer (something along the lines ';Clean printer head';). Try running that program, but note it will use quite a bit of ink.
You probably put it in wrong. Read the instructions again and see if you did anything wrong.

It looks like you have either a 3200 or 3800. Either way right click on your printer and click on preferences and under the main tab you will find a check box with Black ink only. Check this box and you should be in business. Good luck

Epson printers are the worst for this. Check the cartridges that are compatible for your printer. But don't use them too often. Printers like Epson can detect when non-Epson ink is being used. I found the bst way round it is to use Epson and then a compatible then back to Epson.

If you still have the old cartridge, take it and the supposed incompatible one with the receipt back to where you bought it and see if they will exchange it.

Is there a way to override the date chip in an HP printer so you can use ';expired'; print cartridges?

Go in your printer options %26gt; and choose force print.

In some it might be something a little different... but similar.

Put a check in it. Or click it... And away ya go!Is there a way to override the date chip in an HP printer so you can use ';expired'; print cartridges?
    Wow, Im kinda surprised they even ';expire';

I would contact HP and explain the situation. As a customer, you purchased excessive ink, and while they are new-- the printer refuses to use them.

MAYBE they will exchange them or give you a refund. Sending a polite email is always worth a try.
It doesn't seem possible to fix an expired cartridge without physically replacing the chip but you can avoid having the expiration date burned into a new factory virgin cartridge thus making it immune to expiration.

There are places that sell the chips but they seem to all (both, Brazil and the Netherlands) be out of the US and the total cost with shipping is more than the price of a new cartridge.

I figured the following method out from things I read and experimentation.

I make no guarantee and until all my old cartridges expire, I will not know for sure if I am totally correct but that won't be until the end of 2005 (I don't think you want to wait until then).

It is working for me so far. Use at your own risk. You must start with a virgin cartridge (chip), factory fresh without having ever been used to print.

Normally, the first time you print is when the date is burned in.

Do not install the cartridge until you do the following.

There is an *.ini file (hpSomethingOrOther.ini) stored in the system directory (WINNT in NT and 2000) that has a name probably associated with the driver version.

Search for hp*.ini and edit the ones with the latest dates. If you configure the printer driver first, see below, the file date should read today.

There are two files, one will list the one you need to change, change the other one, I think it is the smaller one.

In it there is a parameter something like pencheck. It is set to 0100. I think this is a boolean because I tried other values without effect. Set it to 0000 in the file and save the file and REBOOT.

You can check the value in the driver configuration dialog box (found through the Help for the HP tool box, open the last entry, I think, and click on configure).

If the grayed out box for ink check or cartridge check or something like that is unchecked, you are in business. Cancel this dialog. Do NOT click on default or the expiration check will be reinstated and when you print with your new cartridge you will get an expiration date burned into it.

I wouldn't trust making any changes to this dialog box without rechecking that the parameter stays unchecked. After making sure this value is unchecked, install your new virgin cartridge(s) and the expiration date(s) will read ';UNKNOWN';.

Over time, once you have replaced all your cartridges that have expiration dates burned into them (as they expire and they will) with ones that now read UNKNOWN, and as long as you do not reinstall a driver or configure the printer driver (if you do, fix the INI file again before printing), you should not have any cartridge expire, ever again. NOTE, if you load a new driver, make sure to reset the value in the INI file before you print anything or you will burn expiration dates into the chips and you will have to buy new factory virgin cartridges all over again.

Microsoft drivers for XP don't seem to check the expiration dates or send a date to the printer so you can use expired cartridges with XP (XP Home, anyway) If you install an HP driver in XP, I hope the above method still applies. I have not tried this in 95, 98, or ME but it should probably work.

To install - remove any clips or tape as per the manufacturer instructions.

There is a guide in the cartridges cradle; the edges of the top lid will fit very nicely in there, it will go in on an angle.

  • What is the least expensive way to purchase inkjet print cartridges for my printer?

Does anybody know a store where they sell print cartridges for an old fashioned polaroid camera?

For Polaroid 600 film, Polaroid's ramping down their production of film gearing up to close their factories. I've seen some Polaroid 600 film at assorted Targets around my place, as well as some Walgreens locations, but it is becoming more and more scarce. At this time there does not seem to be any direct replacement for this film

I tried uninstalling and installing the drivers but it doesnt do anything and i also tried a different cartridge and it still didn't workMy HP C3100 printer will not print when i put the black ink cartridge in, and it has a E on the LCD?
It sounds like a problem with the ink cartridge. Did you just change the black ink cartridge and it started doing this? If so it may be that you need to perform a head alignment, because it sounds like it is printing, just not black. Try the head alignment and if that doesn't help, do a nozzle check and head cleaning, if indicated by the nozzle check. It shouldn't be a clogged printhead, since you have a new ink cartridge.

I am assuming that you are using HP OEM ink cartridges and not refills. If you are using the refills, it raises a whole new set of circumstances. The printhead may more than likely be clogged, since these ink cartridges come with a built-in printhead and if you are having them refilled, then the printhead may be worn out. Also, the inks are not the same as HP OEM cartridges and may lead to printhead clogging.

If you are only using HP ink cartridges, I would say do the head alignment. If you are using refills, then try the nozzle check and head cleaning. My HP C3100 printer will not print when i put the black ink cartridge in, and it has a E on the LCD?

  • My lexmark z715 printer will not print, I have made sure ink is full and strip is off the bottom of cartridge?

it goes through all the correct steps but when paper comes out nothing, it is totally blank. My lexmark z715 printer will not print, I have made sure ink is full and strip is off the bottom of cartridge?
    Here are my suggestions:

    # Clean the cartridge nozzles:

    1. Go to the Lexmark Control Program or Solution Center and run the Clean print nozzle test.

If a black cartridge is installed, you should see black lines only.

If the color cartridge is installed, you should see yellow, magenta (a reddish purple), and cyan (a dark sky blue) lines.

If a photo cartridge is installed, you may see different colors.

    2. Examine the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right, with no gaps.

If there are gaps in the lines, you could run the Clean Print Nozzle page a few more times to try and clear it up or try the ';wicking'; procedure below to conserve ink.

If the page is faded from left to right and the wicking procedure doesn't clear it up, your cartridge is probably out of ink.

    # Clean (';wick';) the cartridges:

    1. Remove your cartridges following the instructions in your User's Guide.

    2. Take a warm, damp paper towel and fold it so that it has about 4- to 6-ply thickness.

    3. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are touching the towel, and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds. The nozzles are where the ink comes out of the cartridge.

    4. Now drag the cartridge lightly across the paper towel in one direction only (left to right) until the bottom of the cartridge looks clean.

    5. Turn the cartridge over so that you can see the bar code sticker on the back. Note: Only perform steps 6 and 7 if the contacts look dirty or corroded.

    6. Using a clean pencil eraser, clean the contact points on the copper strip (only the little squares just below the bar code). Caution! Do not use the eraser on the nozzles that were cleaned, as this will damage the cartridge.

    7. Using a clean part of your dry paper towel, wipe the eraser dust off the contacts; ensure that they are dry, and snap the cartridge back into the printer.

    8. Make sure to install the cartridges following the instructions in your User's Guide, selecting Old Cartridge. Failure to do so could reset your ink levels as explained above.

    9. Repeat the nozzle cleaning procedure one more time. At this point the diagonal lines should be solid.

    10. If they are not and you think the cartridges should have ink in them, contact our technicians by e-mail and let them know the results of this test.

    # Reset the ink levels:

Lexmark printer cartridges do not have ink sensors. The levels of ink are produced by a mathematical calculation of ink drops and page counts. The printer stores this information and then writes it to the win.ini file on your computer.

Ink levels can be reset by ';telling'; the printer that you have installed a new ink cartridge or by reinstalling the printer drivers and selecting Cartridges Installed. Once ink levels have been reset, there is no way to change them except by printing. Accordingly, even if your computer says that your ink is full for a particular cartridge, it may be incorrect and the cartridge may need to be replaced. You may want to try a new cartridge to see if that clears up any print quality problems.

Why does my printer , hp2355,with a new cartridge print so lightly?

It could be a number of things.

First off make sure that you are not printing in draft mode.

Secondly, are you using a number 94 black cartridge or a 99 photo? The photo cartridge will result in a lighter print for things like text.

The third problem could be that HP is known to be a little cheeky, from time to time they use the colour cartridge to darken the black. Are both cartridge performing well?

Ru a print head cleaning (the process should be outlined in your manual) if the diagnostic page looks good then that isn't your problem.

Finally if you are using a refilled or third party cartridge, that is your problem right there. Why does my printer , hp2355,with a new cartridge print so lightly?
your printer properties might be set to print draft which uses less ink. open your printer software and go through its configurationWhy does my printer , hp2355,with a new cartridge print so lightly?
Maybe you forgot to take something off of it such as a strip of tape.
I had the same problem, are you sure your cartridge isn't defected? Even though you bought it new there may be a manufacture problem.
IF U HAV JUST PUT I A NEW CARTRIDGE IT WILL NEED INK CHARGING, GO ONTO THE SETTINGS MENU OF UR PRINTER AND SELECT INK CHARGE

(IT ALSO COULD BE SET AS PRINT AS DRAFT :)

Why can't I print even with a new cartridge?

I have a printer and it is installed but I can't print and am very frustrated. Why can't I print even with a new cartridge?
If you have an epson, canon or brother the print head is clogged. The print head is in the printer, not on the cartridge. The only way to remedy this is to do repeated print head cleanings.

My printer won't print black and i want to know if cleaning the cartridge will help?

    Hello,

I t would seem that perhaps your ink cartridge's print head's nozzles are dried /clogged. You can try this fix that has worked great for some sort of ok for some other cartridges. If nothing improves or it leaves streaks of white areas when printing then the cartridge must be replaced.

Take a paper towel fold it in half and wet it with WARM WATER (the inks are water soluable) and gently wipe the jet nozzle area with it. the ink should flow somewhat freely onto the towel without much help. In tougher cases sometimes it will actually help it to flow easier and force the dried ink out of nozzeles if the cartridge is tapped /banged onto the damp towel (the towel is laying on a flat surface). Another possibility is to let the cartridge sit on the damp towel for a few minutes. Any one of these suggestions will usually clear the problem but, like I said if no improvement is found then it would be better to just buy a new one!

Good Luck!My printer won't print black and i want to know if cleaning the cartridge will help?
Do you know if you have ink in the cartridge ?, if you do take the cartridge out of the printer, take a paper towel and fold it in half, dab the cartridge on it 8 to 10 times just don't dab it in the same spot so you can see how the cartridge is bleeding, do you get a solid black line ? squeeze the sides of the cartridge with your fingers 8 to 10 times and dab again, if you still have a problem e mail me I will get the cartridge going again, hope this helps and good luck.
    Go to the manufacturer website.

The heads are probably dirty--clogged with dried ink. Some can be cleaned by the printer itself through printing services others must be replaced or cleaned manually. I have not had much luck with manual cleaning.

I feel like an idiot, but how do you insert a print cartridge inside an hp deskjet f340 all-in-one...?

with our breaking it? I have been trying for the last hour, doing what the directions said to do, I just can't get it in! Is there a trick to this?I feel like an idiot, but how do you insert a print cartridge inside an hp deskjet f340 all-in-one...?
Not normally, it slides right into place. Sometimes you can try too hard to do something. Leave it for a couple of hours and then try again. Also go to the Hewlitt Packard company website. They have step by step instructions on how to do everything with respect to all their printers, including replacing the cartridge. The instructions are both written and spoken, so make sure your sound is turned on. Don't worry, it will be okay.I feel like an idiot, but how do you insert a print cartridge inside an hp deskjet f340 all-in-one...?
Normally you just open the printer, take out the old one and slip the new one in on a slight angle.
