Why does my printer say ';print cartridge error';?

I have a HP 1350 all-in-one printer. I was using it one day and it stopped in the middle of printing my document saying print cartridge error. I've changed the cartridge to a brand new one but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know why it says that and how I can fix it? It won't print, scan or copy and there is a little red light that blinks beside ';check print cartridge';. They are installed the right way and both have ink, so I don't know what to do, and it's killing me not to be able to print out my notes. Any suggestions for some help? Why does my printer say ';print cartridge error';?
I suggest you contact local HP service station or any computer service shop...as your question details are not clear...when everything seems to be correct...did you switch off and switch on again.....click on the printer and if you find any document under printing delete it and try.Why does my printer say ';print cartridge error';?

Cheers!!!
Print Cartridge error is usually caused because of the incorrect positioning of the cartridge carrier ! well to solve this just remove the cartridge and clean it well and before u reinstall the cartride , clean up the cartridge holder and clean up the band that carries the cartridge to and fro in the bay !

if no go then call the HP tech support guys ! they do a good job !
though u have changed the cartridge but sometime it is possible that the new cartridge do have some problem ok any way try to remove the cartridge from the carriage and than clean the dotted part from the cartridge side and the carriage side also with a clean tissue paper and re-installed the cartridge and if this dose not work than there is some thing wrong with the logic card or the carriage cable is faulty in this case take ur printer to printer tecnician for repaire
This happened to me with my canon pixma. Firstly make sure it's the right cartridge (sounds dumb i know, but itcan happen). If you keep getting the same message, it may be your printer. If it's new then it's probably faulty. Try updating your drivers and if that doesn't work, re-fill your old cartridge with ink (and use the old cartridge instead of the new one).
Take out your cartridges and use a clean lint-free cloth (no tissue paper, please) to clean the cartridge contacts on the printer as well as on the cartridge itself.

Take care not to touch the printhead area, just wipe the cartridge contacts (the little yellow squares and the corresponding contact points on the printer).

Put it back in and then power off and on the printer again.
