How can I print with only the black ink cartridge w/ my Cannon iP2600?

I've tried choosing option print in gray-scale but it continues to use up all my color ink to do this. I'm out of color ink and need to use the full black cartridges to print B%26amp;W (black and white) pictures.How can I print with only the black ink cartridge w/ my Cannon iP2600?
Go to what u wanna print click on right side of mouse scroll down to print then u will be at the print setup page the one that asks u how many copies then there will be an option for preferences click on that then it will go to another page and at the top has choices like Main, Page choices, Effects u want MAINTENANCE click on that then u go to ink cartridge settings it will let u pick what color u want. dont think you can with any printer.they always ask you to have both full.strange i know.i dont get it myself





i cant type a letter with black ink without color.i guess thats how they get money
