Hi all i have a deskjet 5940 i replaced the ink cartridge recently, cause it fails to print my documents.?

my son has had so many problems with this printer - his was insured so they gave him a new one but it will only work with hp ink says the replica ink he used was fraudulent - yet my hp 3650 uses replica ink without a problem.

Is the ready light lit on the printer, are there any other fault lights lit?





Is the cable securely plugged in at both ends?





Does the print appear to go to the printer, check for a printer icon on the task bar bottom right.





Go into control start, printers and faxes, is the printer listed there and shows as ready?





Try powering the print on/off.
