Print command says black print cartridge wrong for this device ';E'; dispayed on the printer what to do

printer is not getting switched off only power supply can be cut. It shows E in the place of 1 i.e. error. no paper jam. If I switch off the computer and again log in and give print command, it says The Black Print Carrtridge is wrong kind for this device, if you do not have replacement, you may print using the tricolour only but print slow and colour difference compared to both print cartridges installed. Please advise what does it mean and what should I do. It seems someone may have put the wrong cartridge type into the printer. There are a wide range of printers and cartridges and only a tiny minority are interchangeable (stupid design decisions, but that's life).





Please add to you question with the brand of the printer and the identifying model name/number. Will be somewhere fairly obvious and might be something like Z90 or BC650 or the like.





If you are really unsure you may need to take into a shop but with some more info someone in here might be able to help.
