What is wrong with my printer. it will print halfway then stop and the ink cartridge lights and arrow blink.?

it is an hp D4200 series sometimes it works fine but occasionally it will only print half a sheet and stop. i have tried to cancle the printing but it still says document is deleting. won't delete though been like that for 1 hour. now it won't print at all how can i fix it.What is wrong with my printer. it will print halfway then stop and the ink cartridge lights and arrow blink.?
If you can turn the printer off for a minute, this will clear the memory, also restart the computer to clear any print jobs and try again, if you are still having the problem delete the drivers and reinstall them, hope this helped and good luck.What is wrong with my printer. it will print halfway then stop and the ink cartridge lights and arrow blink.?
Maybe you need to clean and re-calibrate the ink cartridges. Click the start icon, go to your printer and click on HP print screen and just follow their directions. I have to do it every time I change cartridges. I have a HP 3600 series.
It sounds like you are close to being out of ink...make sure there is plenty of paper in the printer, if this doesn't correct the problem, check to see if you need an update for your printer.
