Why can't I print even with a new cartridge?

I have a printer and it is installed but I can't print and am very frustrated.Why can't I print even with a new cartridge?
If you have an epson, canon or brother the print head is clogged. The print head is in the printer, not on the cartridge. The only way to remedy this is to do repeated print head cleanings.
