How do you align print cartridges for a Lexmark printer?

When I print anything from my Lexmark Z53 printer, the text is not clear. There are white streaks going across the text, almost like there isnt enough ink, but I know there is because I just put in a cartridge! When its color, the colors are so off. How do I align the cartridges?!How do you align print cartridges for a Lexmark printer?
The streaks are due to clogged jets on the cartridge.

To align the color cartridge, simply try taking the cartridge out, and putting it back ini. Most often on Lexmark printers, this will bring up a message asking if your cartridges are new or old and of what number they are. after this menu you will likely be forwarded to a printing alignment page. Follow the instructions there. How do you align print cartridges for a Lexmark printer?
Alignment won't help get rid of the streaks. I agree, the nozzles are plugged and require a cleaning.

If your disk included a Z53 Solution Center or Control Program (you'll see this in your programs) you can access the cleaning function there.

You can also access it through Control Panel/Printers and Faxes/Z53. It'll be on the maintenance tab.
